The project 'Isole nella Rete' was born from the will of building an area of visibility on the Internet which could put together the alternative active subjects. Actually we are persuaded that the social and productive transformations happened during the recent years (due to the so-called Third Industrial Revolution) have spotted the attention on the issues of Communication, building a strategic importance around the idea of a free and indipendent access to all the communications media wrapping the world. We have been pursuing this need since before the Internet accesses started spreading in Italy. Not by chance this project was born from those groups, variously grown around SQUATS, which in the last years have been working on 'alternative' communications media, were they BBSs, free Radios or movement Mags. Many other groups, in Italy and abroad, are building similar projects, and we hope that, standing similarities and differences, a wide-spread collaborating Net can rise, a Net in the Net of the Nets!
