Questo trio è composto da alcuni dei più attivi musicisti della musica improvvista spagnola.
Formatosi nel 2003, i suoi membri hanno militato anche negli incredibili Cremaster
La loro è strettamente improvvista. L’approcio ad ognistrumento è caratterizato da un atipico uso dello strumento stesso, e attreverso mezzi non tipicamente musicali come oggetti comuni e materiali poveri tipo il legno, la carta, il polistirolo, palloni, utilizzati nono solo per le loro possibilità acustiche…
Sembra ci sia nella loro musica una tendenza alla contemplazione, ma allo resto tempo i continui cambi nella struttura e i frequenti tagli creano momenti di alta tensione che portano la musica fuori dal loro stato di contemplazione e la portano verso un suono
molto più ruvido e presente….

He lives and works in Barcelona (Spain).
He’s member of the collective IBA since 1999.
He plays regulary in different improvisation projects

He did different collaborations with the

Olga Mesa, Carme Torrent and Constanza Brncic.
He’s played with Mattin, Margarida García, Ivan Palacky, Manuel Mota, Xavier Charles, Francisco López, Thomas Chamertant, Andrea Neumann, Taku Unami, Masahiko Okura, Masafumi Ezaki, Bukhard Beins, Ingar Zach, Guiseppe Ielasi, Mark Wastell…. among others.
Also he works in his own compositons for guitar which have been released on cd, by creative sources label form portugal. He has played in different festivals and venues such as: Nits de la Fundació Miró, Sonar, OFFF and LEM (Barcelona), Sonicscope (Lisbon), Ertz (Bera), Arteleku (Donosti), Sound 323 and LMC festival (London), Instants Chavirés and Les Voutes (Paris), Off-site (Tokyo), A4 (Bratislava), Cave 12 (Geneva).
He also is active in poetry .
Ruth Barberán (trumpet)
Since her integration in IBA, col.lectiu de música i dansa improvisades, in1999, she starts to focus her work in free improvisation. Currently, she has two stable formations :
error focus, with Ferran Fages i treni inerti, with Alfredo Costa Monteiro.
She has participated in festivals such as: REVERS 2001 (CCCB – Barcelona), HURTA CORDEL 2001 (Madrid) and FRUITS DE MHERE 2002 (France) with i treni inerti, NITS DE MÚSICA 2000 i 2002 (Fundació Miró – Barcelona) with l’Orquestra IBA and Peter Kowald and with i treninerti, FESTIVAL DE MÚSIQUES CONTEMPORÀNEES 2000 (Auditori – Barcelona) with l’Orquestra IBA and Butch Morris and SONIC SCOPE 2002 (Lisboa) with Margarida García, OFF-SITE (Tokyo) with Masafumi Ezaki.
She has worked with a lot of musicians as it’s normal in this kind of music but she also works usually with Pablo Rega, Dorothee Schmitz, Guillermo Torres and whenever she can with Margarida García.

Alfredo Costa Monteiro
Porto (Portugal), 1964
He lives and works in Barcelona since 1992. In 1992, he finishes his studies at the Fine Art School of Paris, where he gets his degree in sculpture/multimedia. Since then, his work stands somewhere between installation, visual poetry and sound.
Apart of his work as a visual artist, he starts to become involved in improvised music since 1995 as a multiinstrumentalist (accordion,
electric guitar and turntable)
He did many exhibitions in visual arts and played in many festivals. He also collaborated with many musicians, touring in Europe and Japan.
Since 1998, he is member of 22a, an independent collective for contemporary art.
He is also member of IBA col.lectiu d’improvisació. In sound poetry, he collaborates with Leos Ator, writing and performing in
french, spanish and portuguese.
