IMF and WB are
prepared to defend their conference : culturally and
physically.
18.000 men in uniform, on horses, in armoured cars and helicopters are
going to build the physical barrier to keep our dissent away from the rooms
where they take their decisions.
A continuous and intense media campaign to "demonize" their opponents is
the "cultural " barrier : they use the media to depict us as criminals,
delinquents, outlaws.
Our answer is : they are quite
right!
We are criminals because we believe
there are alternatives to the laws of
the market, profit, exploitation.
We are delinquents because we want to stop the destruction of the lives of
billions of people and the environment of the planet.
We are outlaws because we are ready to disobey the law which regulate
this state of affairs, in order to build these alternatives and stop this
destruction.
We shall come armed with our ideas, convinced of the legitimacy of our
demands, based on the needs of so many people, and of the illegitimacy of
decisions taken on the basis of the power forcibly defended by so few.
We shall come armed with tools to protect our dissent: we shall block the
way of the delegates and march to the conference using various means of
protection: first we shall be protected by words printed on balloons and if
these are not enough we shall use barriers and, if necessary protection for
our bodies.
But we shall also have offensive weapons in Prague: pistols, guns, bombs.
We are criminals, delinquents, outlaws: using our weapons we shall take
what is ours.
And if the booty we are after is a universal citizens' income, where should
we strike, if not at a meeting of the World Bank and International Monetary
Fund?
And if we want to liquidate them, what better weapons than water- filled
weapons?
