![]() DocumentiUnder the guidance of SPA chairman, Fatos Nano, was held the meeting of Socialist Party General Leading Committee. On the agenda were decision taking on crucial issues, on the verge of the coming parliamentary elections. At the beginning of the meeting Mr. Nano informed party leadership on the party electoral commitments, on the cooperation with the other opposition parties and on criteria on electoral candidates' list compiling. He considered of great importance the agreements with the other parties of the opposition in their cooperation before and after the elections. SPA commitments aim SP victory, said Mr. Nano, together with progressive and democratic opposition. We have tried to make the best selections, who will represent our party in the coming parliament. Meeting time's demand, we have worked with the other parties of the opposition to realize the agreements of cooperation. We should mobilize all our forces to protect people's free vote, by giving the maximum contribution to profoundly resolve this deep political, institutional and economic crisis, in order to dismantle the anguish which has grasped Albania. Within the frame of the cooperation with the other political parties, SPA chairmanship has prepared the political agreement of interparties coalition, before and after the elections. Regarding the electoral candidates' list, Nano said that it reflects our commitment in presenting powerful and respected candidates in the Albanian electorate, as the representatives of our political alternative. The candidates, we will present today, will reflect the equilibriums and professional capabilities of our coming Socialist Party parliamentary group, the defenders of our electoral platform. Through the coming elections, we aim to come on power, thing, which will require political and professional potentialities and numerous specialists, to be found among Socialist Party's ranks, but, among the ranks of the other parties, as well. Socialist Party General Secretary, Rexhep Mejdani, spoke about the concepts on which was based party chairmanship work, aiming to successfully carry out this task. Our basic concepts have been those of the alliances, of the partnerships and, in special cases, have been regarded the individual concepts, said Mr. Mejdani. The concept of the party political commitment, especially in the last months, has been taken into consideration. I have to mention here the work carried out by the Forum for Democracy. We have considered, as well, the present and future interparty interest correlation in governing the country. The other criteria considered, explained Mr. Mejdani, have been the proportional, geographic and age ones. In any special cases, has been regarded the pragmatic concept on the party's benefit. It has been considered, as well, the concept of the full party integration in the electoral campaign and in the country's political life. After this kind of summary, Socialist Party Organisative Secretary, Namik Dokle, offered access to the party's General Leading Committee on the electoral candidates' lists, compiled by party's chairmanship. He informed that in the compiling process of these lists, there have been taken into consideration the opinions of the district socialist party branches and some other criteria. Afterwards, Dokle, let the party's committee know about the draft lists of the candidates in the electoral zones and about the draft of the proportional system. After that, a discussion on principal, about the electoral candidates, took place. Numerous constructive remarks, criticisms, questions took place afterwards, with the good aim of presenting SP with dignity in the coming elections. After the lists' approval on principal, the General Leading Committee of the party went on approving one by one the candidates, together with the electoral constituencies they will compete. Most of the candidates passed with the consensus of the party's Committee, while, in other cases, voting procedure took place. Based on the political agreement with the other political parties, free electoral constituencies have been left at the disposal of Socialdemocratic Party, Human Rights Union Party, Agrarian Party, the Party of the National Unity and to any other parties of a possible coalition. On the other side, these parties will support SP candidates in the other constituencies. Some of the well-known figures of Socialist Party and the constituencies where they will candidate are: Fatos Nano in Tepelena, Rexhep Mejdani in Elbasan, Namik Dokle in Kukes, Pandeli Majko in Korce, Maqo Lakrori in Devoll, Bashkim Fino in Kucove, Servet Pellumbi in Korca, Ilir Meta in Skrapar etc. The well known writer, Dritero Agolli, is the second in the proportional list of the SP candidates. SPA - SDP pre and post electoral coalition - By considering the very critical situation the country is going through, because of the wrong governing of DP and Berisha; - By considering the June 29-th elections as the last chance Albanian has to put the foundations of a democratic state through democratic means; - Being conscious that the cooperation of the opposition political parties against Berisha's totalitarian regime is a necessity to face the electoral campaign and to bring the country out of chaos after the elections; - By considering that the strengthening of the relations between the left wing political forces is as much as important as the strengthening of the relations of the right forces, distanced from DP's policies and practices; - Based on their fundamental programs, which inspire the increase and strengthening of the socialdemocratic alternative in Albania; - By estimating that the socialdemocracy alternative meets the interests of the most part of the Albanian population; - Based on the constant recommendations of the Socialist International for the cooperation increase of the Albanian political parties with socialdemocratic inspirations; Agreed: - To join together June 29 elections, by presenting common candidates in almost half of the country's electoral zones; - To cooperate, during the whole electoral campaign, in all the constituencies, through the common means of propaganda, activities, by appealing to the left and central electorate to vote for a normal Albania to all; - To present a common alternative for a future country's joint governing, by being opened to cooperate, as well, by other moderate political forces, either of center right or right wing, clearly distanced from DP; - To offer a political contract of cooperation to the other parties, for the solution of the great problems, with which the country will face right after the elections; the compile of the draft constitution and its approval; the reconstruction of the democratic institutions, the realisation of an independent juridical system, the reorganisation and depolitisation of SHIK (secret police) and state Radio and Television, finding out the ways of solution of the pyramid schemes and property, set forth conditions for people's disarmament, the rapid Albanian integration in the Euro-Atlantic structures and the Albanian issue resolve, within this frame. SPA - HRUP pre electoral accord Socialist Party and the Human Right Union Party realised a pre electoral agreement of presenting common candidates in four electoral constituencies in the elections of June 29. |
