Tirana in the favour of democracy, against violence and dictatorship
"We will keep the promises"
States Nano in his address to the festive rally of SP and its allies in the main Tirana square
The present crisis was a very bad dream, which was overcome thanks to the marvellous Albanian people, who, maturely, gave its sublime verdict, said among other things Mr. Nano in the enthusiastic rally held in Tirana.
Through its free vote, Albania turned back to democracy. It starts the new epoch of peace, of cohabitation and of the real democracy and liberty. We greet, on this occasion, the Government of the National Reconciliation, OSCE and all the other international organisms, Multinational Forces, USA, Europe, neighbouring countries, the Albanian political parties, which in this very extraordinary situation, realised free, fair and equal elections.
On behalf of the Albanian socialists, I express to you, once again, the gratitude and the full conviction that we will meet with dignity and great responsibility the historic demand of the country's governance in these extremely difficult moments. We will do our utmost for a normal Albania, for a dignified Albania, for a democratic Albania.
The Albanian socialists will never misadministrate the confidence of the votes granted to them. Today, all should believe and feel themselves as free citizens of a free and democratic state, should feel themselves equal in front of the law, justice and state.
We, socialists, will bare in mind all the mistakes committed by our predecessors, in order not to repeat them again.
The institutional reforms, we will implement, will be based on international standards, on the human rights Chart.
Socialists know very well the motives and the reasons of Democratic Party, which sent the country into such a deep crisis. That's why we will act and govern otherwise. The wide governance spectrum of the political forces, which is realistically supported by the electorate is a guarantee for our success. The political coalition will make possible the real responsibility undertaken by all the political forces, which will co-govern the country.
Socialists have not promised the paradise. They have promised only their engagement, will, labour, the already fixed plans to put into life a new policy, which will bring the country out of the crisis and will approach us to the democratic World, will really and practically integrate us to Europe. That's why, we will realise the economic and institutional stability, establish peace and order through a cooperative policy and partnership with the World. We will carry out the transparency of the pyramid schemes, the economic reform, the investing policy, financial reform etc. through the close cooperation of our partners, like USA, European Union and international organisms.
Albania pertains to Europe and we will make our utmost to be its real part and not the outskirts of the European crisis. Albania pertains to Europe, to the West and the new Government will construct a real platform of the national security, aiming to establish Albania into the Euro-Atlantic family and join NATO.
We, the Albanian socialists, together with the democratic left and center, will bare the responsibilities of the present time and, being supported by the people's mandate in these elections, will be in the forefront to protect people's free votes.
Let all the Albanians be united, without any religious, regional, political view distinction, with a sincere reciprocal confidence, to reconstruct a democratic and prosperous Albania.
It is the time of cohabitation
Primer's address to the big Tirana rally
Through these elections, the Albanians demonstrated to each other and to the World that Albania is ONE, from North to South. June 29-th was people's mark for a wrong state governance, is the people's mark to a corruptive government. Now, it is our common responsibility to construct a better future. We will say No to the splitting policy, to criminality, to violence. We said in a plebiscite way Yes to the future, to the cohabitation, to Albania, to Europe.
On this occasion I would like to thank all the friends of Albania, international community, OSCE and the Council of Europe, all its member countries, member countries of the multinational forces and, especially, to Italy, which leads this force. We wish to greet from this enthusiastic square the torch of democracy, United States of America.
Now, it is the time of the everlasting peace for Albania, the real time of the national reconciliation. It is the time of the cohabitation, without political, regional, ethnic and cultural prejudices.
We will construct the real democracy in Albania. We will put the country into motion, will guarantee citizen's freedom and initiative, will bring the future to our own country. June 29-th plebiscite is a national appeal for governance and tolerance.
President's anticonstitutional acts
Press conference of the Primer, Fino
On Wednesday, the Albanian Primer, Fino, gave a press conference on the latest development in the country after the first round of June 29-th elections. The results of these elections have been mostly made public. In the mean time, Primer, Fino, it was said in the press conference, has requested to the Central Electoral Commission to make public the official results, as soon as possible, and at the same time, to take all the measures in order to have a normal second round.
The spokesman of the Council of Ministers, informed that Mr. Fino had appealed to all the parts of his cabinet to be on duty, as they have already been, and to work up to the end of their mandate. Among other things, the spokesman explained the permeation of Primer, Fino, to the Interior Minister, Celo. "We can confess here, said the spokesman of the Government quoting Mr. Fino, that the Interior Minister has temporarily left the country and he has informed today officially, by phone, his deputy that he has not resign. On this issue Mr. Celo has decided to inform the President of the Republic. Under these conditions, Democratic Party suggestion to replace the Interior Minister, Celo, with Mr. Hajdari or with any other candidates, is out of place", said the Government's spokesman, quoting the Primer Fino.
In the mean time, the spokesman of the Primer, appealed to the monarchists to refrain their passions, to consider the situation with realism, to respect the feeling and inspirations of all the Albanian people. Then, the Prime, Fino, responded to the questions of the journalists.
Irresponsible and illegal acts of Berisha

Every one recognized the results of the first round of the elections in Albania. So did officially the representatives of Democratic Party and President Berisha, through a statement in the Albanian mass media. Consequent up to the end to inhale the establishment of the democratic institutions in the country and respecting people's will, expressed through the massive vote of June 29-th, Berisha and his clan, who represent the old policy, are trying to re-destabilize the country through the elections contest, the manipulations of the results of the referendum in the favour of the Republic and the Presidential Guard commitment in confrontation with police and setting up a terroristic climate in the capital.
SPA appeals to all its voters and sympathizers, as well as to all Albanians, to peacefully cope with even this last unfortunate attempt of those who destroyed the country and are the main causers of the most severe crisis Albania has ever experienced.
