Fino meets Berisha

It is expected the final communique of the Central Electoral Commission to decree the convention of the new parliament

President Berisha will decree this week the convention of the new parliament, emerged from June 29-th elections. There was a meeting between the President, who is in the way of leaving the office, and the Prime Minister of the National Reconciliation Government, Bashkim Fino, on this issue. But, the President has not mentioned his resignation in the meeting with Fino.
The Prime Minister, Fino, told to the newspaper that the meeting was asked by Berisha and it did not last for more than 30 minutes.
The Primer said that the talks were about the convention of the new parliament. He told to the paper that President Berisha had the predisposition to decree as soon as possible the convention of the new parliament.
"President told me that after being made public the official declaration of the Central Electoral Commission on the final results of the elections of June 29-th, he will leave at the disposal of the parliament's lawyers 3-4 days to prepare the juridical background of the coming parliament and, by the end of the week or at least at the beginning of the coming week, he would sign the decree for the convention of the parliament", said Primer Fino after he met President Berisha.
In the mean time there will not be any resignation of President Berisha during this week. Maybe, even in the coming week. The Primer Fino said that President Berisha, despite of the decree on the parliament convention, will decree the new Prime Minister.
After these, thus, after the realisation, of what Berisha calls as "constitutional obligations", it is expected his resignation, the divorce with his office, which he ran for 5 years.
The convention of the new parliament and Berisha's resignation from the post of the head of state, are two expected constitutional acts the Albanians have wished. They will put an end to the transition, political power alteration after people's verdict of June 29-th.
At the same time, these two acts will open up the way to the foundation of the new government of the center and left center coalition, as an expectation to overpass the hard situation in Albania.

The Central Electoral Commission issues the final results of the Referendum

Republic wins

The absurd pretences of the monarchists for an obvious victory in the Referendum, were categorically rejected by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) through the issue of the final results of the referendum.
The form of the governance through the parliamentary republic came victorious with 66.74 percent of the votes, against 33.26 percent of the votes in the favour of the monarchists.
The delay in issue of the final results of the referendum, according to the members of the Central Electoral Commission, it is explained by the presentation of numerous of complains from the representatives of the monarchists, which had to do with some irregularities in some constituencies.
Starting from this fact, CEC, differently from the law on the referendums, was forced to check one by one all the protocols of the polling stations, related to the referendum.
There were a lot of debates between the members of the CEC regarding the issue of the final results of the referendum. During the process of the documentation reconsidering, six members of CEC asked for testing the documentation in the contested electoral zones. This request, through a general voting, was rejected by the other 8 members of CEC. At the end, this Commission took numerous of decisions, which were made present to different political parties. If these parties used to have complains, they could address to the Constitutional Court to resolve them legally within three days.
At the end, Central Electoral Commission, based on the final results, recognized as victorious the republican form of governance, which used to have most of the votes in its favour. With 904.359 votes Republic came out victorious against monarchy which gathered 450.478 of the electorate votes.
This is the final result for the 115 constituencies signed by the Chairman, deputy Chairman and the General Secretary of the Central Electoral Commission.
