BLACK SHEEP BLUES BAND
Il gruppo dei Black Sheep si é formato nel novembre 2000 da
elementi con varie esperienze musicali con band di diversa natura. Dopo un'attenta analisi
hanno cercato di costruire un repertorio scorrevole e accattivante che spazia su gran
parte delle variazioni e sonorità che offre il blues, contribuendo ognuno a creare quella
miscela esplosiva di suoni e di stili che li identifica, usano aggiungere qua e l' qualche
spruzzatina di Jazz, Soul e Funky, cercando di trasmettere sempre più "feeling"
con "performances" ogni qual volta nuove e coinvolgenti

La diversa estrazione musicale che accompagna il percorso dei quattro
"Lisagenetica" permette di viaggiare attraverso la musica degli ultimi
sessant'anni, dal jazz delle origini al rock più acido e ruvido; quasi un percorso
che da Charlie Parker riuscisse a giungere fino a Jeff Buckley, passando per
i Seventies e il Grunge.
Della stessa molteplicità si nutrono le tematiche trattate nei testi, in cui non mancano
pungenti riferimenti alla realtà sociale circostante.

Christy Doran has, through
his expressive style, an excellent reputation as an untiring searcher, an obstinately
creative musician, who crosses the border between Jazz and Rock with a trend to unusual
mixing of proportions. At the same time he follows his projects very strictly, with a
sharp sense for structure but also the deep consideration for musical freedom and for
larky surprises. No wonder he does not put Jazz into a museum, but exposes it with no
sentiment again and again to new influences and enriches it with new ideas. This has
revealed e.g. in a quartet with two contrabasses, whilst he plays through the ultrajazz or
even the free jazz similar combo "Doran-Studer-Minton-Bates & Ali play the music
of Jimi Hendrix"
