This site is work in progress, aiming both to enforce all the mobilitations against G8 meeting in Genoa and, above all, to superate the habit of awaiting/running after dates of anti-globalisation appointments, being active after July.
It's not THE telematic reference of an organised group, but just ONE meeting point for all the different experiences that recognises themselves inside social self-organization poltical courses and that aim to contribute in achieving successfully the international mobilitations of July in Genoa.
Therefore, this project is not thought as opposite to the work carried out by the Genoa Social Forum, group that comprise, among the other, many partners of the network, it instead aims to focus on some particular subjects, that we think to be central inside the struggle against the neo-liberistic globalization.
Here some subjects (like employment/unemployment, migrations, environmental devastation) are developed, starting from the real conflicts in our countries, to join the global character of dates against international powers with the daily fights for negated rights.
As well as in Naples, Quebec City and many other cities around the world, the purpose is to link the battles of the anti-globalization movements with the local conflicts, and we believe that the digital communication is, from this point of view, the best tool to achieve the enlargement of struggles and the diffusion of the antagonist information.
From the 20th to the 22nd of July the members of G8 will meet in Genoa. Heads of government of the eight most industrialised countries of the world will meet in the chief town of Liguria to impose their decisions on human beings, who according to their plans, should suffer with passivity, with resignation, or even accept with pleasure, the diktats of the world powers in the name of the profit and the capitalistic accumulation.
Behind the false propaganda that pretends being no more ideologies and especially no other possible alternative to the present social system, there hides in reality one of the most totalitarian ideological era that has ever existed: Capitalism, in its nearly world-wide extension, presents itself as the best and the unique possible world.
We live in this world: it forces whole continents to starve, in it wars become "humanitarian" and, even in the so called industrialised countries, hundreds of million of people live a day by day more precarious existence. Migrants are closed, guilty only of being such, in jails called "welcome centers"; our environment is devastated and what we daily eat is poisoned.
But if it is true the simple statement and complaint are not enough. The movements and the struggles that daily oppose to tyrants of the world, involving millions of people prove that another world is possible.
We'll be in Genoa too, beginning from the following three important points:
The cause of our struggle include the fight against the war. After the Gulf war and NATO's attack on the Balkans, war has become capitalism's standard tool for resolving international conflicts.
Bush's accession to power has already sparked protests throughout the world as a result of his policies regarding conventional weapons build-up and space defence systems, his renewal of the cold war with China, his advocacy of measures that will prove devastating to the ecosystem, and the return to nuclear energy, coal, and technologies involving excessive pollution.
His dominant position at the G8 summit has imposed the militarization of Genoa and will most likely cause border closing with the objective of stemming mass protests.
Therefore we believe it's possible and necessary to organise a big mobilitation, realising a net of all the antagonist and self-organised groups, national and international movements which believe in anti-capitalism. To create, starting from the real basis, a true and radical alternative to the current state of the art, refusing to be subject to the illusory switching between a "progressive" and a "conservative" way to manage the same social system.
It is our responsibility to link, from the antagonist point of view and of the fights, the mobilitation against G8 with a red wire to the great manifestations that, from Seattle to Praga, from Nizza to Quebec City, have crowded with alarming ghosts the meetings, before quiet, of earth's masters.
In Italy, the mobilitation of Naples against the Third Global Forum represented an important event for the movement against the capitalistic globalisation. Through a detailed preparation and because of a social conflict situation it could make 40000 people start rioting. It also succeeded in linking a mass meeting with the contents and incisiveness of the struggle.
From Palermo to Naples, joblesses and self-organised workers of the "Rebel South", will be strongly present at the mobilisation in Genoa against G8 and together with all the unemployed of Europe, they'll claim, in front of the world owners the right of income or guaranteed salary.
After the March event in Naples, waiting for the G8, it's important to discuss continuously and to co-ordinate the different groups. It will be present at the next great important European meetings in the next month (Salisbury, Barcelona, Goteborg), opposing the capitalistic globalisation promoting a real internationalisation of the struggles.
Continuing what was done in Porto Alegre it's important to struggle and support the Korean workers against Daewoo, Sem Terra against the large landowners, the Palestinian people against Zionist oppressor, the Kurdo, Basco and Ireland population struggling for the freedom, the Colombian strugglers and the struggle in Chiapas.
Let's make an appeal to all the groups (from social centers to all the self-organised groups, to antiracism and migrants networks, from feminist groups and so on), in the plurality of the contents, against G8 and the capitalism, to realise this very important appointment in July in Genoa.
Waiting for this date we want to organise territorial and regional networks with the same name of the national network.
